Clear Hills Youth Treatment Center (CHYTC) is located 17 kilometres from the hamlet of Hythe in Alberta and operates under the mandate to deliver Youth Addictions Programming and Services. CHYTC is currently seeking a self-motivated, highly experienced individual to fulfil the role of Youth Support Worker.
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
Reporting to the CHYTC Program Manger, the Youth Support Worker’s primary role is to provide direct youth support, advocacy, and mentorship to clients on behalf of the CHYTC.
REQUIRED EXECUTIVE FUNCTIONS
- Support – Provides direct support to clients through one-to-one or in a group setting to clients in fulfilling program objectives and goals.
- Advocacy – Provides advocacy for clients through resourceful support to meet and achieve program delivery.
- Mentorship – Provides direct mentorship for clients promoting self-esteem, awareness, and healthy choices.
- Regulatory Compliance – Ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and licensing requirements to promote health and safety.
- Quality Improvement – Assists in implementing and monitoring quality improvement initiatives to enhance the overall service delivery outcomes.
- Collaboration – Works closely with the CHYTC Program Manager and staff in meeting client goals and program requirements.
- Policy and Standards – Ensures compliance with CHYTC operational policies and standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Human Services Field, or
- Certification in addiction field an asset.
- High School Diploma with a minimum of three (3) years experience working with youth.
- Up-to date Suicide Intervention Skills Training, First Aid, CPR, and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention.
- Computer literacy (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, Publisher, and Power Point).
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Clear Criminal Records Check.
- Self-control, ability to maintain composure, keep emotions in check, control anger, and avoid aggressive behaviour, even in demanding situations.
- Openness to personal growth and commitment to continuous professional learning.
- Knowledge and/or understanding of First Nations culture and traditions.
